Embrace Tuscany
There is much to see and do at Villa Le Barone and in its surroundings:
- For sports fans, our guests can use, free of charge, Villa le Barone’s tennis, swimming pool, "fitness room", bicycles and the 12 station fitness trail (approximately 500m), all of these having stunning views on the Chianti hills, the vineyards, the olive trees... You can also play golf on the 18-hole Ugolino golf course, just 20 minutes away. An independent 3 bedrooms villa bordering Ugolino Golf Course is available for rent. There are also many hiking and walking possibilities close nearby, and a folder, given upon arrival, contains the corresponding itineraries.
- For gourmets, our Tuscan cooks provide on request cooking classes, during which up to 4 participants will prepare an entire meal and then enjoy it. Wine tastings are held at Villa Barone, but we can also organize visits and wine tastings in the surrounding Chianti Classico vineyards. The "Wine Festival" takes place during the first two weeks of September, just at the beginning of the grape harvest.
- For those who love and practice arts, whether confirmed artists or not, Villa Le Barone is the perfect setting to practice painting, watercolor, pottery, photography. Three watercolor and painting courses are organized by a French teacher each year, with the next one taking place from April 27th to May 2nd (limited number of participants). Individual classes of half a day or one day are also offered by a trilingual artist. Villa Le Barone also offers in the nearby town of Impruneta, home of terracotta, pottery classes (2 people minimum) held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Finally, for our many guests practising photography, we organize a photo contest. The first prize is a 2-day stay for 2 at Villa Le Barone!
- And of course, for those who love sightseeing, since Villa Le Barone is ideally located in the heart of
Chianti, one can start to explore the Renaissance Tuscan cities famous for their art treasures: Florence (29km from Villa Le Barone), Siena (33km), San Gimignano (40km), Volterra (64 km)... Other villages closest to Villa Le Barone, are also worth a visit for their atmosphere, architecture, crafts... Our guests will find in their room suggestions for driving itineraries to explore Chianti "off the beaten track." Villa le Barone may also arrange tours of various cities and their museums.
