Gardens: a place to find serenity

The property covers several hectares and is set in a protected natural environment. The large grounds feature beautiful rose gardens, centennial holm oaks, Mediterranean plants and numerous flower beds that bloom throughout the seasons.

Our terraces and well-tended lawns offer multiple quiet spots where you can relax and admire the charm and elegance of this peaceful setting.

Views

From every corner of the gardens, breathtaking views of the rolling Tuscan hills unfold. The tennis court overlooks the unspoiled Chianti countryside, where vineyards and olive groves stretch as far as the eye can see. From the swimming pool, guests can admire the Romanesque church of Pieve San Leolino, while the “Garden of Hearts” offers a spectacular view of Panzano in Chianti, the perfect spot to watch a romantic sunset.

Sustainability

If you wish to stay in a hotel truly committed to environmental protection, then Villa le Barone is for you! Villa Le Barone is fully engaged with protecting its natural environment.

To reduce our carbon footprint:

- We preserve biodiversity by avoiding harmful pesticides and herbicides, ensuring a healthy environment for the birds, bees, and butterflies that thrive in our gardens. The infinity pool is saltwater, avoiding the use of chlorine. Each year, we plant new trees, including 400 olive trees in 2020. The fresh flower arrangements that welcome guests in their rooms come directly from our own gardens.

- We have also taken significant steps in energy conservation. Half of our energy needs are met through solar panels on the parking lots, and we have installed energy-efficient systems throughout the property. The infinity pool is heated by a heat pump to minimize energy consumption.

- Recycling is a priority, with glass, paper, and plastics carefully sorted and repurposed.

- Sustainability extends to our cuisine as well. Our restaurant sources seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, ensuring fresh and flavorful dishes, while reducing food miles. The extra virgin organic olive oil used in our kitchen comes directly from our own organic farm in Maremma, maintaining both quality and authenticity.

We are approaching these efforts towards sustainability as a team with our wonderful staff who share our values. We are also sustaining the work of local NGOs.
